The People’s Choice nominations are in, but you’ll never believe which film got left out in the cold!! The people have spoken! Yep, that means you all. And while there are many no-brainers on this years Peoples Choice movie nominee list, the voters did leave us with a few surprises. But first, leading the pack as a clear crowd favorite this year is Sandra Bullock who picked up 5 nods with two of them in one category. She was nominated alongside her Gravity co-star George Clooney for Favorite Movie Duo, and she was also nominated in the same category with funny girl Melissa McCarthy for this summer’s buddy comedy The Heat. At first glance, the category for Favorite Movie Actor didn’t seem too surprising with actors like Hugh Jackman, Robert Downey Jr., and Johnny Depp all making the cut, but after reading through this list again we were shocked that Henry Cavill’s name was nowhere to be found. And speaking of Henry Cavill, you also won’t see Man of Steel listed anywhere in the categories. The only trace of anything Man of Steel is Amy Adams nomination for Favorite Dramatic Movie Actress. Other than the exclusion of Man of Steel, the nominations for Favorite Movie were not terribly shocking, especially if you’ve been following box office performances this year. The Favorite Movie spots went to Despicable Me 2, Fast & Furious 6, Iron Man 3, Monsters University, and Star Trek Into Darkness. But if you were wondering what happened to The Wolverine!? Well, never fear, it made it on to the Favorite Action Movie list, and surprisingly so did Brad Pitt’s World War Z. And even though a lot of great movies came out this year, audiences are starting to get excited and rally behind some of the Oscar worthy films, and nominated movies like Captain Phillips, Gravity, Lee Daniel’s The Butler, and Prisoners for Favorite Dramatic Movie.
