The stock market responded with joy today as Steve Ballmer announced his soon retirement after holding the position for over 13 years after Bill Gates appointed him CEO in 2000 to pursue philanthropy projects.
The company has been struggling after many fails the past few years that include the announcement of the closing of Zune last week, the mistakes with Xbox One and the continuing increase in sales by mobile tablets and cell phones.
Ballmer was hired in 1980 and was considered Bill Gates right hand man throughout Microsoft company history, no successor has been appointed yet.
