Looking at her diminutive frame, you’d think that the rapper/singer Keiana Parks was just a quiet girl with another pretty face that you see in most urban neighborhoods. On stage however, this same ‘pretty face’ transforms in Lady J.T.O., an artist armed with a rapid fire flow, melodic cadence and unique voice sensitive yet strong enough to carry the words God has entrusted her with.
Raised in a Christian home in North Philadephia, J.T.O. experienced a ‘prodigal daughter’ period in her walk, but is now fully dedicated to honing and sharing her craft to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to the nations. Keiana’s prodigal period included a lesbian lifestyle that she was delivered from, and even her moniker is a re-invention that speaks to new life in the place of her former one. She flipped “Dykes Taking Over” to “JESUS TAKING OVER”. The name change proved to be perfect and yet ironic fit, since LADY J.T.O. is now the first lady to be part of the TAKEOVER RECORDS roster. It is Keiana’s desire to express to youth & young adults, that no matter what the struggle or strongholds are, there is a way out & his name is Jesus. . LADY J.T.O.’s music is a rhythmic combination of soul, spoken word and commercial viable yet lyrical hip hop music.
